Syllogism Advanced Tricks (Possibility Cases) – Bank Exams
Advanced Logic • Possibility Concepts • Exam Accuracy
1. What is Possibility?
Possibility means something may or may not happen.
- Possible ✔
- Not definite ❌
Used when relation is not clearly defined.
2. Important Rule
“If there is no direct relation, possibility can exist”
Example:
All A are B
All C are B
👉 A and C relation is not given → So:
- Some A are C (Possible)
- Some A are not C (Also possible)
3. Exam Trick (Very Important)
👉 If two groups connect to a common group, but not directly to each other:
A → B ← C
Then A & C relation = POSSIBLE
This is one of the most repeated exam patterns.
4. Example (Exam Level)
Statements:
All A are B
All C are B
Conclusions:
I. Some A are C ✔ (Possible)
II. Some A are not C ✔ (Also possible)
Both are possibilities → Acceptable
5. Common Mistakes
- Thinking possibility = definite ❌
- Ignoring hidden connection ❌
- Confusing with direct conclusion ❌
6. Topper Tip
If no direct relation is given, always check possibility. Do not reject quickly.
7. Quick Practice
Statements:
All A are B
No C is B
Conclusions:
I. Some A are C
II. Some A are not C
Answer:
I → Not possible ❌
II → Possible ✔
