Profit and loss concept

🔷 Core Formulas

Profit = SP − CP

Loss = CP − SP

Profit% = (Profit / CP) × 100

Loss% = (Loss / CP) × 100


🔷 Basic Problems

Q1. CP=100, SP=120

Profit = 20

Profit% = 20%


Q2. CP=200, SP=240

= 20%


Q3. CP=500, SP=600

= 100/500 ×100 = 20%


Q4. CP=400, SP=360

Loss = 40

Loss% = 10%


Q5. CP=800, SP=720

Loss% = 10%


🔷 Successive Profit/Loss

Q6. 10% profit twice

= 1.1 × 1.1 = 1.21 → 21%


Q7. 20% profit twice

= 1.2 × 1.2 = 1.44 → 44%


Q8. 10% loss twice

= 0.9 × 0.9 = 0.81 → 19% loss


Q9. 20% loss twice

= 0.8 × 0.8 = 0.64 → 36% loss
