🔹 Approximation & Simplification Tricks
Approximation questions are very common in bank exams. These questions test your ability to quickly estimate values instead of performing exact calculations. With proper techniques, you can solve them within a few seconds.
✅ Trick 1: Rounding Method
Concept: Round numbers to nearest easy values (10, 50, 100).
Example: 498 × 19 ÷ 21
- 498 ≈ 500
- 19 ≈ 20
- Calculation: (500 × 20) ÷ 21
- = 10000 ÷ 21 ≈ 476
✅ Trick 2: Use Compatible Numbers
Concept: Adjust numbers to make division easy.
Example: 798 ÷ 19
- 798 ≈ 760
- 760 ÷ 19 = 40
✅ Trick 3: Simplification Using BODMAS Smartly
Concept: Solve division and multiplication first, but simplify wherever possible.
Example: 48 × 25
- 25 = 100 ÷ 4
- 48 × 100 ÷ 4
- = 4800 ÷ 4 = 1200
✅ Trick 4: Close Number Adjustment
Example: 999 × 51
- 999 ≈ (1000 − 1)
- = 1000 × 51 − 51
- = 51000 − 51 = 50949
🔹 Practice Questions
