Coding-Decoding Advanced Tricks – Bank Exams

Mixed Patterns • Logic Building • Fast Solving

Advanced coding decoding patterns

1. Mixed Pattern Concept

In advanced questions, different rules are applied together:

  • Letter shift + reverse
  • Position change + number coding
  • Word rearrangement

2. Pattern Identification Trick

Check first → Middle → Last letters Find pattern → Apply to full word

3. Example (Mixed Shift)

CAT → DBV

C → D (+1)
A → B (+1)
T → V (+2)

👉 Pattern is not uniform → check carefully

4. Example (Reverse Pattern)

ABC → ZYX

A ↔ Z
B ↔ Y
C ↔ X

👉 Opposite alphabet logic

5. Example (Position Coding)

CAT → 3-1-20

C=3, A=1, T=20

👉 Direct alphabet positions

6. Common Mistakes

  • Assuming same pattern for all letters ❌
  • Ignoring reverse logic ❌
  • Not checking position-based coding ❌

7. Topper Tip

If pattern is not clear, try reverse or position logic. Always test 2–3 possibilities quickly.

8. Quick Practice

DOG → FQL
Then CAT → ?

D→F (+2)
O→Q (+2)
G→L (+5)

C→E (+2)
A→C (+2)
T→Y (+5)
Answer: ECY ✔
