Percentage Mathematics

1. Important Concepts

  • Percentage = (Value / Total) × 100
  • x% = x/100
  • Increase/Decrease formula

2. Speed Tricks

  • 10% = divide by 10
  • 5% = half of 10%
  • 1% = divide by 100
  • Use fraction conversion (e.g., 25% = 1/4)

Q1: Find 25% of 480

Solution:
25% = 1/4
480 ÷ 4 = 120

Solution:

= −4%
Answer = 4% decrease


Q3: Find 15% of 360

Solution:
10% = 36
5% = 18

Solution:
40% = 80
100% = (80 × 100) / 40 = 200

Solution:
