Direction Sense – Tricks & Practice Problems

Solution:
Direction = North-East
Distance = √(10² + 5²) = √125 = 11.18 m


Q2: A walks 10 m south, then 10 m west, then 10 m north. Where is he now?

Solution:
Net movement = 10 m west
Answer = 10 m West


Q3: A starts facing north, turns right, then left, then right. Final direction?

Solution:
North → East → North → East
Answer = East


Q4: A walks 5 m east, then 12 m north. Find distance from start.

Solution:
√(5² + 12²) = √169 = 13 m


Q5: A moves north, then turns left, then again left. Final direction?

Solution:
North → West → South
Answer = South
