Core Formulas

Speed = Distance / Time

Distance = Speed × Time

Time = Distance / Speed


Unit Conversion

1 km/hr = 5/18 m/s

1 m/s = 18/5 km/hr


Basic Practice

Q1. 60 km in 2 hours

Speed = 30 km/hr


Q2. 120 km in 3 hours

= 40 km/hr


Q3. Speed = 80 km/hr, Time = 3 hrs

Distance = 240 km


Relative Speed

Q4. Opposite direction (40, 60)

= 100 km/hr


Q5. Same direction (60, 40)

= 20 km/hr


Train Problems

Crossing pole: Length / Speed

Crossing platform: (Train + Platform) / Speed

Q6. Train length 100m, speed 10 m/s

Time = 10 sec

Downstream = u + v

Upstream = u − v

Equal distance: 2xy / (x + y)

Equal time: (x + y) / 2
