🔹 Profit & Loss Tricks

Profit and Loss is a scoring topic in bank exams. Shortcut methods can help solve these questions quickly without lengthy calculations.

✅ Trick 1: Basic Formula

  • Profit = SP − CP
  • Loss = CP − SP
  • Profit% = (Profit ÷ CP) × 100

✅ Trick 2: Successive Percentage Change

Formula: Net % = a + b + (ab/100)

Example: +20% and −10%

  • = 20 − 10 − (200/100)
  • = 8% gain

✅ Trick 3: Marked Price & Discount

Example: 20% discount on ₹500

  • SP = 500 × 0.8 = 400

🔹 Simple Interest (SI) Tricks

✅ Trick 4: SI Formula

SI = (P × R × T) / 100

Example: P=1000, R=10%, T=2

  • SI = 200

🔹 Compound Interest (CI) Tricks

✅ Trick 5: CI Shortcut (2 Years)

Formula: CI = P(1 + R/100)² − P

Example: P=1000, R=10%

  • CI = 1000(1.1² − 1)
  • = 1000(1.21 − 1) = 210

✅ Trick 6: Difference Between CI & SI

For 2 years: Difference = P × (R/100)²

Example: P=1000, R=10%
